I blog about writing and writers, especially those in North Carolina, my beloved, adopted home.

President Pat Riviere-Seel (at left) has just presented the first-ever award honoring the state's great bookstores to Emoke B'Racz, founder of Malaprop's in Asheville.

    Hi Valerie! I love nothing more than a good story about Southern life; I think the American South has the most intricately woven culture and is sadly so often mis-written.
